A number of our existing employees have benefited from this approach, with a particular focus on engaging with our female workforce. Several of our female team members began their careers with us directly from education and now hold roles in technical, estimating, commercial and marketing fields, as a result of our commitment to professional development.
We believe that apprenticeships are vital to our business, with around 20% of our current managers and employees having begun their careers in this way. We are proud to be able to celebrate the legacy our apprenticeship programme has created, collaborating today with supplier and subcontract companies who’s founders also launched their careers with us as apprentice graduates.
We believe that presenting opportunities to young people considering a path into construction is hugely important, both in terms of their future success and to the wider industry.
