Student site visit supports careers in construction

Anwyl team members at the Harpers Road extra care scheme in Warrington has hosted a site visit for Coleg Cambria HNC Business Studies students.

As part of the visit, the group of 16 students were able to see first-hand how a large scale development is managed and constructed, learning about the construction of a building from substructure to roof. The students underwent a full site induction, enjoyed a tour of the site and took part in a lean collaborative planning lesson, alongside a Q & A session with the team.

It’s really important that we support our local schools and colleges and encourage young people to consider and explore a potential career in construction. Visiting a live site gives a true insight into how a construction project is delivered, the complexities, opportunities and challenges.

The business studies group from Coleg Cambria where incredibly enthusiastic, keen to get involved and ask interesting and insightful questions.

It was a pleasure to take one of my HNC level four groups to Harpers Road. The Anwyl team accommodated the group expertly, which enabled the class to see how a large scale residential development is managed. It’s not often our students can experience a live site of this size, it has been truly beneficial to their studies.
