Estimated Value: £3.5M
Completed: In Progress
Summary
The regeneration of the former Boars Head pub site — situated in Flintshire — is taking place in partnership with social housing provider ClwydAlyn. It will create 28 one and two-bedroom apartments for over 55s, as well as three houses for families. Anwyl Partnerships negotiated a full turnkey solution with ClwydAlyn, comprising acquisition of land, securing planning permission and carrying out all construction works.
Project Information
The new development is set to regenerate the historic former Boars Head public house, which had been empty for several years and become an unstable structure which was posing danger to the community.
The new development will create much-anticipated, high quality affordable homes in Ewloe. The community’s request to commemorate the former Boars Head will be honoured by placement of a plaque within the new development.
Following minor delays caused by the national lockdown imposed during 2020, the development is now on target to be completed in April 2021.
Craig Sparrow, Executive Director of Development for ClwydAlyn commented:
We are delighted to be involved with this exciting project and have worked so closely with Anwyl Partnerships to secure this opportunity. Local people have fond memories of the former pub and the happy times it no doubt provided. We do though hope that the creation of such a quality development for a mix of ages will provide more happy memories long into the future.
During the course of the development, Anwyl will be working with ClwydAlyn to provide positive outcomes for the local community, including work-based training, employment opportunities and community initiatives.
