Project Overview

Client: Wales & West Housing
Estimated Value: £5.1M
Completed: June 2021

Summary

The project has transformed the site of the former Grange Hotel in Rhyl, which was damaged beyond repair by a fire over a decade ago. The new over 55's apartments are a vibrant addition to the regeneration of Rhyl's East Parade, built in partnership with Wales & West Housing under a £5.1 million contract.

Project Information

The four-storey single-block scheme is made up of 41 one and two-bedroom apartments for older people, including several specially-adapted accessible apartments, providing much needed housing for this specific demographic.

Anwyl Partnerships worked together with Wales & West Housing throughout the contract to achieve specific employability outcomes and conduct a number of community-led initiatives, aiming to enhance living standards in the area and leave a positive lasting legacy.

The vital regeneration of Rhyl is now very much underway with various private and public sector organisations and businesses driving this forward. The redevelopment of landmark buildings particularly prominent both in terms of location and size, including The Grange, form an integral part of these plans.
