Anwyl Partnerships has helped shape the external grounds at Padgate Social Club as part of the company’s commitment to community engagement whilst on site at nearby Harpers Green over 55s Extra Care scheme.

Padgate Social Club have permitted Anwyl’s site team to utilise their car park area during construction of the adjacent development, in order to assist with protecting the surrounding residential areas from the increased traffic in the community. Anwyl were pleased to show their appreciation, by completing the external improvement works at the Social Club.

Construction work has continued at the site through periods of the recent lockdown, having been classified as essential works due to the nature of the development.

The Harpers Green development has epitomised a true partnership approach between ourselves and the many important stakeholders, most notably the community. They have supported us throughout and we have worked together to ensure that this scheme is a success on many different levels.

Being able to carry out these works and improve the outside area is a pleasure, especially at such a time where indoor hospitality trading was halted. The new paving has allowed the social club to open an outside serving area, that would have otherwise been forced to remain closed due to lockdown and social distancing.

Tom Anwyl, Managing Director of Anwyl Partnerships explained.

Since Anwyl arrived on site in our community we’ve had a great relationship with their site team. We’re pleased we’ve been able to assist the development by offering use of our carpark for the contractors. The paving works which Anwyl have installed by way of thanks are wholeheartedly appreciated and enables us to enhance the offering to our customers and improve revenue at what has been a difficult time. We’d like to thank Anwyl Partnerships for their consideration to us and the wider community.

Bob Mclaughlin, Secretary of Padgate Social Club and Vice-Chair of Longbarn Residents Association added

Anwyl Partnerships are due to complete additional car park improvement works at Padgate Social Club upon completion of the Harpers Green project.

The Harpers Green development is in partnership with North West Housing Group, Torus and comprises 97 one and two-bedroom apartments set across four-storeys. The 10,000 square metre site also includes a community bowling green, hair and beauty salon and bistro, with a central feature courtyard for the residents.

The project is the largest extra care project delivered to date by the social and affordable housing specialist.

It’s fantastic to see this brilliant project coming towards completion. It will be a huge asset to the local community and bridge a clear gap in the nearby housing market.
